Chess in Schools
My mission is to promote critical thinking & decision making skills in order to use those skills in real-life problems. Wining a chess game is important but being successful in life and achieving your professional, artistic or entrepreneurial dreams is the ultimate goal. This picture is from Atkins Middle School in Lubbock, TX during one of our chess sessions sponsored by Communities in Schools Foundation.

Summer Chess CampsThere is nothing better than enjoying your summer time making new chess friends with fun games, sports, arts and of course chess! This was a chess camp organized by Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. I am on the top right wearing a blue shirt.

Chess Exhibitions
During a simultaneous chess exhibition (simul) I can play multiple opponents at the same time. In this picture I did a simul in a shopping mall in Merida city (near Cancun Mexico). Don't you love the Piñatas hanging on top of the chess boards? The huge yellow chess pieces were specially crafted by a local artist for this event.

Chess & Technology
I love technology and chess. If you have an I-pad, cellphone, laptop or desktop with internet access we can play a game or analyze your games via video-conferencing and chess software.
In this picture I am playing chess with my mom (Rosa Maria Eguia Lis), who by the way, is also a chess coach and has her own chess school in Merida city. If you are learning or want to practice Spanish, maybe you can also play a chess game with a chess pal in Mexico. Yes, we can arrange that! If you want to visit my mom's chess school on facebook, click here: https://www.facebook.com/Club-de-Ajedrez-Benito-Juarez-233157673400243/ And yes, that is me on the cover photo of her facebook page! |
